Uzbekistan has signed an agreement with a Kazakhstani company for the transportation of uranium to France within a year. The company will transport 500 containers of uranium concentrate from the port of St. Petersburg to France, reports the Adyrna national portal, citing daryo.uz.

The Uzbek state-owned enterprise Navoiuran has contracted the Kazakhstani company TOO Logistic Center to transport 500 containers of uranium concentrate from the port of St. Petersburg to Malvési, a commune in southern France. The contract is worth €9 million.

The uranium is scheduled to be transported by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Each shipment must be completed within 15 days from the departure date at the port of St. Petersburg. The cargo will be delivered in compliance with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations for the safe transport of radioactive materials.
