Ukraine has accepted the U.S.-proposed 30-day full ceasefire, reports the national portal “Adyrna,” citing DW.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on March 11.
During negotiations in Saudi Arabia, Kyiv proposed “air silence,” “maritime silence,” and “prisoner release” initiatives. In response, the U.S. suggested a broader step—a full ceasefire across the entire front line for 30 days.
Ukraine accepted this proposal, but Zelensky stated that Washington must now persuade Russia to agree as well.
Following the negotiations, the U.S. announced it would immediately resume military and financial aid to Ukraine. Additionally, the pause in intelligence sharing between the two countries will be lifted.
The talks also covered the exchange of military prisoners between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children.
The parties also agreed to work on a future agreement for the joint development of Ukraine’s natural resources.
