Two freight trains collided 65 kilometers from Zhezkazgan, according to a statement from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) press service, as reported by the national portal “Adyrna.”

“On October 15, at 10:10 am, a privately-owned diesel locomotive collided with another locomotive near the ‘Sarysu’ railway stop. As a result, five empty wagons and the locomotive overturned. The locomotive crews sustained moderate injuries,” KTZ reported.

The company also noted that the incident did not affect the movement of other trains. The collision reportedly took place on the Kazakhmys LLC railway, 65 kilometers from Zhezkazgan.

It is worth noting that on October 9, there was another collision in the Akmola region involving two trains. Following this, KTZ sent a commission to the scene at Surgan station, where a freight train had derailed, and recovery trains were deployed to address the consequences of the derailment. A criminal case was initiated regarding the collision incident.
