Famous singer Ramazan Elibaev has passed away

Singer, composer, and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Ramazan Elibaev, has passed away, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.

Ramazan Elibaev was born in 1947. He was a renowned Kazakh singer and composer, known for songs like “Núrekem,” “Tumarım,” “Janym-au,” and “Ne peya.” He also performed other well-known songs such as “Kózder-ai,” “Jas ulan,” “Balalyq qaiyran bal shaǵym,” and “Kónil kúı.” As a member of the “Gulder” ensemble, he was a laureate of various international competitions and festivals. He held the title of Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Having been a distinguished artist on the Kazakh stage, he had stepped away from the art world for over 15 years. A year ago, he revealed he was diagnosed with stage 3 Parkinson’s disease and sought help from the public. The artist, who lived on temporary medications, passed away on October 11. His children announced his death.

The funeral will be held on October 13 at the Republican Main Mosque in Astana.
