In the Mangystau region, the acting head of the Tupkaragan District Police Department has been held accountable, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.

The press service of the Mangystau Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced that the acting head of the Tupkaragan District Police Department faced disciplinary action by order of the head of the Mangystau Regional Police Department for failing to promptly consider a supervisory body’s directive. Prosecutors identified legal violations during the issuance of permits for the purchase of civilian firearms, revealing that permits had been granted to individuals previously held administratively accountable for intentional minor bodily harm and domestic violence.

To address these violations, a recommendation was issued to the Tupkaragan District Police Department, but it was not reviewed within the legally prescribed one-month period. As a result, disciplinary action was initiated against the department’s leadership. Additionally, following the prosecutor’s demand, illegally issued permits were revoked, and four firearms were confiscated.
