Majilis Deputy Daulet Mukaev expressed his opinion regarding the Russian language curriculum taught in Kazakh-language classes, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
Daulet Mukaev stated that Russian language textbooks for second-grade students in Kazakh-language classes are too difficult. According to Mukaev, these Russian language books include complex tasks like sentence formation and memorizing poems right from the beginning of the school year. In his view, teaching should start with the alphabet.
“In my family, the children don’t speak Russian at all, so it’s very difficult for them. Even as parents, we struggle with it. Additionally, the Kazakh language curriculum for Russian-language classes is much easier. Their tasks are simple, like filling in missing letters in words. Meanwhile, the tasks for students in Kazakh-language classes seem like they were prepared for philology students. I believe the textbooks should be simplified,” said the deputy.
Furthermore, Daulet Mukaev pointed out issues with grammar in schools, noting that some teachers make mistakes with basic words.
The deputy also proposed removing the computer science subject based on new standards. He asked on what research this decision was based and demanded that the results be published.
