China’s electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng has assembled the first module of its Land Aircraft Carrier vehicle, marking the start of flying car production in the country, Adyrna reports, citing Xinhua News Agency.
The factory, located in Guangzhou, began construction in October last year and was launched this September. It covers a total area of 120,000 square meters.
In the initial stage, the plant will produce 5,000 modules per year, with plans to increase the number to 10,000 in the future.
“This is one of the largest production capacities in the world, comparable to similar plants abroad. Once fully operational, the factory will assemble one flying vehicle every 30 minutes,” the statement said.
After presenting its first product, XPeng received nearly 5,000 orders for flying cars. Mass production and deliveries are scheduled for 2026.
