Every year on October 19, Kazakhstan celebrates Rescuers’ Day. This day is dedicated to the employees of the civil protection system — rescuers who work tirelessly to prevent and eliminate the consequences of natural and man-made disasters.

By the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 19, 1995, the State Committee for Emergency Situations was established. Since then, the country’s civil protection system has been formed, and special units capable of responding promptly to various emergencies have begun operating systematically. Since 2008, this day has been officially celebrated as Rescuers’ Day.

Rescuers are not only firefighters — they are specialists who stand on the front line during floods, earthquakes, road accidents, industrial disasters, forest fires, and other emergencies. Every day, they face danger to save human lives. Their profession requires not only high professionalism but also great spiritual strength, responsibility, and courage.

The work of rescuers is aimed at ensuring the safety and stability of society. Their quick response and high level of training often help save many lives. In this regard, the state pays special attention to the development of rescue services and the modernization of their material and technical base.
