At Utah Valley University campus in the state of Utah, USA, political activist and Trump supporter Charlie Kirk was shot while delivering a speech in front of a crowd, Adyrna reports.

The bullet struck his neck. The activist was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, later U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Charlie Kirk had died. On Truth Social, Trump stated that he had ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for four days at various government buildings and other locations across the country.

“The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk has passed away. No one understood America’s youth better or cared more deeply about their condition than Charlie. Everyone loved and admired him, and I was one of them. He is no longer with us. Together with Melania, we extend our condolences to his wife Erika and all of his family. Charlie, we love you!” Trump wrote.

According to The Washington Post, following the tragedy, security in Washington, D.C., was heightened. It was reported that traffic was partially restricted on streets near the White House.

It should be noted that the 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA, a well-known activist and podcaster who promoted conservative values in schools and universities. Official reports state that the shot was fired from approximately 200 meters away from the campus buildings. Initially, reports claimed that a suspect had been detained, but later it was confirmed that the individual was not connected to the incident.
