The first meeting of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons will be held on June 21-23, 2022 in Vienna. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdy, informed, Adyrna correspondent reported.

"The entry into force of the Treaty in January 2021 was an expected signal of the decision of the UN member states to take concrete steps to delimit nuclear weapons - to declare them illegal," he said. This is a special event for our people, who have experienced all the harmful effects of nuclear tests. Speaking at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that "today Kazakhstan is an example for the whole world as a responsible state that has voluntarily renounced its nuclear missile arsenal and closed the world's largest nuclear test site."
