The Yeni Safak state's newspaper reported that a group called the Children of Fire, affiliated with the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party, was involved in the fire in Turkey and claimed responsibility, according to the national portal Adyrna.
According to Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, 107 forest fires have been extinguished in the country in recent days, up to five fires in the Turkish resorts of Antalya and Mugla.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Sunday that the death toll from forest fires in Turkey had risen to eight. The number of victims is 864 people.
A comprehensive investigation is underway.
