China's share in world bitcoin production has fallen sharply this year, while Kazakhstan's share has increased. According to a study by the University of Cambridge, Kazakhstan has become the third country in this area, according to the national portal Adyrna.
According to a study published by the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, China accounted for 46%. In September 2019, it was 75.5%.
During this period, the share of Kazakhstan in global bitcoin production increased almost sixfold, from 1.4% to 8.2%. At the same time, the United States rose from 4.8% to 16.8% and came in second, while Russia and Iran ranked fourth and fifth in terms of the number of bitcoin producers.
It's worth noting that most of Kazakhstan's electricity comes from coal-fired power plants in the north of the country. They generate more than 22 gigawatts of electricity.
