The USA donated 242,000 English textbooks to Tajikistan's secondary schools. The books are intended for 10-11th grade students, informs the correspondent of "Adyrna".
The official ceremony of handing over the textbooks was held in Dushanbe in the presence of US Ambassador Manuel Mikaller, Minister of Education and Science Saidzod Rahim Khamro, permanent representative of the Aga Khan Development Network Kozidavlat Koimdodov.
"The textbooks use modern language learning methods that promote critical thinking, including student-centered learning, communicative learning, and exercise-based learning," the US Embassy said.
Currently, more than 350,000 English language textbooks for grades 8-9 are being delivered to Tajikistan.
It should be noted that earlier the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon declared the need to improve the teaching of Russian and English languages. The head of state announced 2023 as the year of the Russian language.
