Sarsenbay Kotyrashov, an employee of the Ulytau National Historical-Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve and a labor veteran, will walk through the vast steppes of Kazakhstan, the national portal Adyrna reports citing Kazinform.

Until November, the 72-year-old man will travel around the country, meet with masters of applied arts and acquaint residents of other regions with the history and sacred places of Ulytau district.

He plans to travel 40 kilometers a day.

"Did you go to Ulytau?" The so-called walking marathon started yesterday. Before leaving, Sarsenbay Kotyrashov met with colleagues from the Ulytau Museum-Reserve and shared his directions.

“I have been preparing for a walking marathon for seven years. My goal is to meet with masters of handicrafts and acquaint the Kazakh people with the history of Ulytau. This includes the promotion of the festival "Kokmaisa". I plan to visit all regions of Kazakhstan. I will start with Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Shymkent. Then I will go to Taraz, Almaty, Taldykorgan. I want to make a list of the best craftsmen of Kazakhstan. All my directions will be published on social networks, "said the traveler.

Marathon runner's way: Ulytau - Kyzylorda - Turkestan - Shymkent - Taraz - Almaty - Taldykorgan - Ayakoz - Semey - Pavlodar - Nur-Sultan - Kokshetau - Petropavl - Kostanay - Aktobe - Oral - Atyrau - Beyneu - Aktau.
