The National Bank of Kazakhstan together with Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC has decided to change the rules of trading in the tenge-US dollar currency pair, the national portal Adyrna reports.
A statement issued by the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange reads: "On February 28, trading will open at 15:00 Frankfurt auction in Nur-Sultan time."
These measures are temporary, reflect the high level of uncertainty and the need to minimize the pressure exerted by external geopolitical factors on the foreign exchange market and financial stability in the country.
In addition, due to changes in the current uncertainties in foreign financial markets, the National Bank together with Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC may consider the issue of a complete suspension of exchange currency trading on February 28 until 15:00 Nur-Sultan time.
Information on the further regime of trading in the tenge-US dollar currency pair will be provided in a timely manner through official communication channels.
