At least six people were reported dead in an Israeli airstrike on central Beirut, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to the BBC, the Wednesday attack injured 11 people. Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that a medical facility belonging to Hezbollah was damaged as a result of the strike.
Foreign media reported three explosions in southern Beirut, followed by two more, with one building destroyed in the Al-Bashura district near Lebanon’s parliament and the UN regional headquarters. The Israeli military launched its first strike on central Beirut on Monday night, targeting primarily the southern outskirts of the city, where Hezbollah facilities are concentrated.
Israeli forces also warned residents of certain southern districts of Lebanon’s capital, urging them to evacuate as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) planned further strikes in the area.
“You are near Hezbollah targets, and the army will soon act against them,” said IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee.
It is worth noting that on October 1, an Iranian missile attack on Israel resulted in one death and three injuries.
