Azerbaijan has launched a project within the framework of the TURKSOY organization that will be implemented for the first time in the world. The project involves the production of a complex plot film with the participation of Turkic-speaking countries. This was reported by Ramila Gurban, head of public relations and marketing at the “Azerbaijanfilm” studio, to the Azertac agency, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
According to her, filming has begun for the movie “Molla Nasreddin: A Friend of My Hard Days,” with participation from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. The film’s scriptwriter and director is People’s Artist Vagif Mustafayev.
Currently, filming started six months ago in Kyrgyzstan. R. Gurban announced that the next shooting locations will be in Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
“The essence of this project is to bring Turkic-speaking countries closer together through the ideas of shared culture and unity,” she stated.
Screenwriter and director V. Mustafayev mentioned that the large pavilion of “Azerbaijanfilm” studio is currently occupied.
“Filming in Azerbaijan is scheduled for April. By that time, the pavilion is expected to be vacated. It is currently rented out, with decorations installed and filming ongoing. By the end of March, we have invited decorators from abroad who will set up the scenery, and in April, filming in Azerbaijan will continue,” said Mustafayev.
