The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that the price of autogas might increase to the price of gasoline, the national portal "Adyrna" reported. Alibek Zhamauov, deputy head of the Ministry of Energy, announced this.
"Yes, we plan to raise the price step by step. This year we raised it by 5-8 tenge, next year we plan to raise it up to 10 tenge. The final price depends on the region, each region has different prices. In Almaty, it will be 75, 85 tenge... Thus, when the price of liquefied petroleum gas is equal to gasoline, car enthusiasts will stop switching to liquefied petroleum gas," Zhamauov said on Wednesday at the meeting ground.
He noted that the ministry monitors the circulation of liquefied petroleum gas.
"There is no deficit last year and this year," he said.
He also noted that many Kazakhstanis have already abandoned liquefied petroleum gas and switched to commercial gas.
"Now we are talking about gas used by car enthusiasts. Its price will gradually equalize with the price of gasoline," Alibek Zhamauov concluded.
It was clarified that this measure will not affect the price of commercial gas that people use to heat their homes.
