The judicial authorities of France have extended the period of detention of Pavel Durov, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
Durov, the inventor of Telegram, was arrested at the Paris airport on suspicion of committing violations related to the messenger he created. His detention may last up to 96 hours at the discretion of the investigating judge.
At the end of this period, the judge can decide to release him or extend his detention.
The French Ministry of Justice issued an arrest warrant for Pavel Durov as part of a preliminary investigation into crimes such as fraud, drug trafficking, cyberbullying, organized crime and terrorist propaganda.
It should be noted that on August 24, the Russian Embassy in France announced the arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram network.
