The President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Hurelsukh arrived at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana, reports the national portal "Adyrna" referring to the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"The President of Mongolia flew to Astana for the SCO summit. "Khurelsukh of Ukhnaag was met by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koyshibaev at the airport of the capital," said the message issued on Wednesday.

The Mongolian president will participate in the SCO summit in Astana on July 3-4.

"In 2004, Mongolia was the first country to receive observer status in the SCO. Then there was a geographical expansion of the association, which was evidence of the growth of the SCO's international reputation," the report said.

As noted in the Cabinet of Ministers, in the framework of Kazakhstan-Mongolia cooperation, in addition to traditional friendly political relations, interaction in the trade and economic sphere is a solid basis of bilateral cooperation.

"By the end of 2023, bilateral trade turnover increased by 27.7% compared to 2022 and amounted to 133 million dollars," the government explained.
