The territory of the regions of Kazakhstan has been clarified. According to the resolution of the Government of Kazakhstan dated July 1, 2023, the borders of East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions were changed, and the borders of Abay region were redefined, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to the documentation, the boundaries of the following regions have been changed:
The total area of 18,536.6 thousand ha was transferred to Abay region, excluding the administrative-territorial units of East Kazakhstan region - the cities of Semey and Kurchatov, Aksuat district, Abai, Ayagoz, Beskaragai, Borodulikha, Zharma, Kokpek and Urzhar regions;
