Zhandos Suyinbay, the head of the Cybercrime Center of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said this, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to him, one of the most common methods of Internet fraud is calling on behalf of bank employees and law enforcement agencies.
"Now operators recognize and block calls made from abroad. Since the beginning of the year alone, 15 million such calls have been stopped. At the same time, fraudsters are looking for new ways to deceive citizens. Frauds made by calling from foreign numbers and using "WhatsApp" are now being registered. Despite the overall decrease in registration, more than 400 crimes were committed on behalf of bank employees in 3 months. Most of them are related to formalizing online loans to citizens," says Zhandos Suyinbay.
