The 11th President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, delivered a welcoming speech at the Central Asian Media Forum. He noted the importance of democratic reforms introduced by President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
“President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has initiated amazing reforms in the country to give more power to the Parliament, to increase communication with the public and the Government, to establish a system of checks and balances in decision-making to empower Kazakh institutions. These reforms lead to the decentralization of power, to the prevention of monopolies, of course, ensure the participation of the population in government. Moreover, they provide an opportunity for international partners to develop cooperation in various sectors. The media is the voice of the people. Thus, we can call for reforms that reflect the aspirations of the people,” A. Gul said.
