On September 9, 2022, a meeting was held in Mangistau region on the issues of rehabilitation of the Uzen deposit. The event was attended by Magzum Myrzagaliyev, Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas NC JSC, Maksat Ibagarov, CEO of Uzenmunaigaz JSC, Bakytzhan Hasanov, CEO of KMG Engineering LLP, veterans of the oil and gas industry, geologists, public figures and deputies of Zhanaozen.
Let's remind that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, at the council on social and economic development of Mangistau region held in September 2021, asked the national company "KazMunayGas" to develop a separate plan for geological and exploration work in the region due to the gradual depletion of oil fields and the decrease of oil produced by 2030. submitted. In this regard, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the concept of the rehabilitation plan for Uzen and Karamandybas fields was developed.
It is expected that the field rehabilitation measures will gradually bring the level of oil production to 6-6.5 million tons in several years and will allow to maintain this indicator for the next 10 years.
