Compatriots wishing to return to the country will be sent from Turkmenistan to Zhanaozen by train of the Turkmen Railway, the national portal "Adyrna" reports with reference to "orda.kz".
"On June 2, 490 ethnic Kazakhs will move from Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan for permanent residence. This decision was made on May 11 at the request of the Kazakh Embassy by the Emergency Commission to combat the spread of the disease," Turkmen.news reports.
The train will run on the route Turkmenbashi - Bereket - Serkhetyaka - Bolashak. At the Bolashak station, a Turkmen locomotive will be replaced by a Kazakh locomotive. The last point will be the city of Zhanaozen in Mangistau region.
In 2020, 319 people renounced their Turkmen citizenship, 70 of them ethnic Kazakhs.
