March 24 Residents of Myrzakent, the center of Maktaaral district, reported to the Turkestan regional branch of Adildyk Zholy that the groundwater level had risen sharply, causing significant damage to houses, yards and farms. According to residents, local authorities complained that they did not listen to complaints.
The rainfall in the area was 65 mm in four days, and a total of 116.2 mm in 16 days. The streets and residential areas of Zhetysai and Maktaaral districts were flooded due to the fact that it exceeded the monthly norm (norm - 51 mm) by 2 times and coincided with the leaching of arable land.
In connection with this situation, the Turkestan regional branch of RPA "Justice" contacted the Department of Emergency Situations and asked to get acquainted with the situation and organize assistance to the population.
