French President Emmanuel Macron, during a press conference on the outcomes of the EU summit in Brussels, called on the Israeli authorities to halt their military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
“France urges Israel to cease its military actions in Lebanon, refrain from launching ground operations, and respect the country’s sovereignty, as well as its commitments to the UN, especially regarding the UNIFIL peacekeepers,” Macron said.
According to him, the elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar should serve as an opportunity to stop the war.
“We need to halt military actions and the fighting in Gaza and pave the way for a credible political future for both Israelis and Palestinians,” stated the French President.
