Zhibek Kulumbetova is a two-time world champion in jiu-jitsu at the age of 12.She trains in the Sagadat Batyr Hall named after Sagadat Nurmagambetov. The correspondent of our portal had an interview with the talented girl.
“My physical training teacher was the first person who noticed my interest in sports. I took first place in the class in long jump and running. Then Sister Elvira told my mother about my success. So at age 9, I enrolled in jiu-jitsu. When I started playing sports, my character was revealed and I got rid of being too serious, ”said our heroine.
Interestingly, the young athlete also competes among boys, beating his rivals in flag competitions.
"When I first went to the gym, I was the only girl. So I had to fight with the boys. Honestly, there was no fear. It is very interesting to fight with them, because they are physically stronger. I gained a lot of experience competing with boys, "said Zhibek.
In the family, only Zhibek was a professional sportsman. Earlier his brother took part in Jiu-Jitsu. However, due to his health he had to say goodbye to sports.
“Nursultan Orynbasarov is a role model in sports. He was very supportive and taught me a lot. Thanks to my brother's coaching work, I became a "World Champion". Many thanks to my coach.
In September, the athlete became the champion of Kazakhstan in Jiu-Jitsu in the weight category of 44 kg.
"I got a ticket to the World Cup in November. Preparations are in full swing. God willing, I will do my best to return to my homeland with victory, "said the young talent.
At the end of the interview, Zhibek told her dream.
"My dream is to raise the blue flag and become a multiple champion. I also plan to break the team at the Asian Games. I want to prove to the world that Kazakh girls are strong, ”Zhibek Kulumbetova concluded.
