The roof of a residential building caught fire in Almaty, reports the “Adyrna” national portal. The “Prestige Alatau” residential building, located at the intersection of Baitursynov and Kurmangazy streets in Almaty, is currently on fire.
Videos from the scene have circulated online, showing the roof of the building engulfed in flames. The Emergency Situations Department stated that 25 firefighters and several brigades are working at the scene.
“The fire started on the 7th floor of the 8-story residential building. Efforts to extinguish it are underway. Traffic on Kurmangazy Street has been restricted. There is no information on casualties yet,” the statement said.
Gas and smoke protection service units are also working at the fire scene.
It is worth noting that in Kostanay, a fire broke out in a residential building, tragically claiming the lives of five children.
