On August 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) entered the Kursk region. They move 35 km deep into the Suzhan district and wide along the border. People are fleeing from the settlements located there - the authorities of the warring Russia were unable to organize the evacuation, as well as the defense of the border.
There are 28 settlements of the Kursk region under the control of VSU. More than 120 thousand people have been evacuated, about 180 people have to leave the territory in total. On August 12, Acting Governor of the Kursk Oblast Alexey Smirnov reported this.
