West Kazakhstan Medical University Rector Aset Kaliyev was detained. This information was confirmed by the Anti-Corruption Agency, reported the national portal "Adyrna".
Before that, information was spread on the Internet that the suspect was arrested for accepting a bribe of 12 million tenge.
"Anti-corruption service within the framework of pre-trial investigation M. West Kazakhstan Medical University named after Ospanov confirms the arrest of the chairman of the board of the KEAC," the report said.
Agency representatives announced that the information will be supplemented.
It should be noted that Aset Kaliyev joined this position in September 2022.
