As a result of the helicopter crash, five servicemen and three civilians were killed. According to official data, the plane was on its way to deliver humanitarian aid to flood victims.
The incident happened at 9:36 in the morning in Tivino region of Pastasa province.
"Ecuadorian army created an urgent commission and began to investigate the cause of the accident that put the armed forces in a tragic situation," the report said.
