Since the beginning of the year, 4,400 people renounced their Russian citizenship. This was announced by the director of the Russian consular service department, Alexey Klimov, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to Klimov, in 2022, 4,306 people renounced Russian citizenship, and 691,000 people received Russian citizenship. In 2020, there were 3.8 thousand people who renounced their citizenship, and in 2021, there were 4 thousands.
Since the start of the war with Ukraine, a total of 8,7 thousand people returned their Russian documents.
