Residents of Almaty asked the mayor of the city why the two main avenues of the metropolis were closed for repairs at the same time, - reported "Adyrna" portal.
This issue was raised during the meeting of Yerbolat Dosayev with residents of Bostandyk district.
"Now, the question that worries all Almaty residents is: why were two main avenues - Al-Farabi and Abay - closed at the same time (for repairs - approximately)? Why were there no roundabouts or reverse traffic? The most important thing: when do you plan to finish all this?" asked the residents. .
In response, Yerbolat Dosayev reminded that these avenues have not been repaired since 2010 and 2012. According to him, this summer was the last season when the road surface could withstand normal traffic conditions.
"If my decisions caused inconvenience to someone, I would like to apologize not only to the residents of Bostandyk district, but to the residents of Almaty as well, on behalf of myself and the mayor's office. But unfortunately, the problems of the development of large megacities, not only Almaty, are related to the regulation of road infrastructure.
