Medeu District Court No. 2 sentenced the ex-head of the Sports Department of Almaty Rustem Bayseyitov and his subordinates. They are accused of embezzling 367 million tenge, the reporter of "Adyrna" reported.
Former leader Rustem Bayseyitov was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
He can no longer hold public office duties.
Also, the ex-head of the financial and economic department of the Sports Administration of Almaty city Aygerim Baigonova was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months, Aliya Smakova, the sports manager of the NGO "Kazakhstan Golf Federation" was sentenced to 3 years, Yerzhan Mukhamanov, the director of "Qazaq Sport" LLP, was sentenced to 7.5 years.
It should be noted that the former head of the Sports Department did not fully admit his guilt in court.
