A fire broke out in the Mikhailovsk district of the Altai region, a region bordering Russia with Kazakhstan. This was announced by the TASS agency, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

A special train was drawn to extinguish the silent enemy. The train supplied special equipment with 120 tons of water.

He came from the territory of Central Kazakhstan. The wind is having a negative effect on extinguishing it. So far, the fire has been contained in an area of 1,000 hectares. Firefighters managed to extinguish it 9 kilometers from the village of Bastan, home to 800 people.

82 specialists, 42 equipment, including a helicopter, 4 tankers, 24 firefighting equipment, 8 tractors were mobilized to fight against the silent enemy. According to the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Altai Region, the situation is complicated by strong winds.

The fire reached the village of Bastan and other nearby settlements. All residents were warned of the danger of fire.
