A joint resolution "On renaming some administrative-territorial units of Karaganda region" was developed by the Karaganda regional ex.com. and the Karaganda regional maslikhat, the correspondent of "Adyrna" reported.
According to the document published on the open NKA portal, several villages in the region will be given Kazakh names.
"The village of Novostroyka in Ushtobe rural district of Bukar Zhirau district should be renamed "Atameken", the message says.
At the same time, the names of several rural districts and villages of Osakarov district are also changing:
Zvezdny rural district - Zhuldyz;
Telman rural district - Niyaz;
Zvezdnoe village in Zvezdny rural district - Zhuldiz;
Komsomolskoe village in Nikolaevka rural district - Kayindy;
Senakosnoe village in Karatomar rural district - Karatomar;
Telmanskoe village in Telman rural district - Karakol;
Chapaevo village in Sadovyy rural district will be renamed Zhanatogan.
The document will be available for public discussion until April 27.
