Timur Shaymergenov, the deputy director of the library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was detained. A source in Astana told Silkroadnews about this, according to the correspondent of "Adyrna".
According to the source, representatives of the special service in Astana detained Shaymergenov together with his wife.
He previously served in the Security Council headed by Nazarbayev, and was the vice minister of defense and aerospace industry. He also headed the International Information Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In recent years, Shaymergenov worked in the management of the Nazarbayev Library. He was an expert on Central Asian countries and China.
