A resident of Almaty reported that her relatives, along with 60 other people, were stuck on the road near the Assy plateau, adyrna.kz correspondent reported.

Irina Lelyavskaya, a journalist from Almaty, reported that her family was stuck on a road in the mountains near Almaty. According to the woman, on January 2, her son, as part of a group of 60 people, went on a jeep tour to the Assy plateau. However, on the night of January 3, an avalanche came down in this area and blocked the exit from the plateau towards the city.

"They say that the avalanche was very serious, about 3-4 meters high. Rescuers are now breaking through to the stuck people. I have not been able to contact my son since the evening of January 2, but we keep in touch through volunteers who work on the spot. According to preliminary information, there "38 cars and about 60 people got stuck. Among them is the family with a two-year-old child, who was recently searched for in Almaty. They try to stay together, in groups. It seems that they managed to transfer supplies of fuel and food. I heard that a truck is making its way to them to take out children and women. We are informed that the situation is under control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and volunteers are also working on the spot," said Irina Lelyavskaya.
