Zhenis Kassymbek, the new mayor of Astana, promised that the LRT project would be completed in the coming years, adyrna.kz reported.
He announced this in Astana after the extended meeting of the government with the participation of the Head of State.
"LRT will be completed. LRT will be completed within two to three years. Depending on funding," Kassymbek said on the sidelines of the government.
The journalists also asked the new mayor of the capital what issues would be addressed first of all by the new leadership of Astana.
“I can’t say that I’ll start from a specific moment. You saw that we just started working with equity holders yesterday, there are issues of public utilities and many other issues. All these are the main issues,” Zhenis Kassymbek answered reporters.
Mayor of Astana promised journalists that by the end of this year he would hold a meeting with the residents of the capital.
"At the end of this year, before the end of the year, I will meet. Meetings began, two days ago I met with equity holders, such meetings are held every day," said the mayor of Astana.
