All sections of roads in Kazakhstan will be covered by the Internet and mobile communication by 2027, the correspondent of adyrna.kz reports.
The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin commented on the issue of Internet and mobile communication availability on the sections of republican roads.
"The next important measure is the connection of roads of republican and regional importance to cellular communication and the Internet. Currently, the Internet is available only on 25 percent of these roads. And mobile communication is 86 percent. By 2027, 100 percent of these roads will be covered by the Internet and mobile communication" , - said the minister at the government meeting.
In addition, Musin spoke about the implementation of 5G technology in cities of republican significance.
"Taking into account the outdated 3G copper cable technology in the world, we will completely replace it by 2027. We will also increase the 4G mobile technology by 100 percent, and the optical infrastructure by 90 percent. Also, by 2027, we will increase the share of 5G technology to 75 percent in In Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, and in regional centers - 60 percent," he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development told how much they fined cellular operators for poor internet quality in Kazakhstan.
