Head of State Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the Decree "On the appointment of extraordinary elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan". Akorda announced this, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"I decree in accordance with paragraph 3-1 of Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
1. The extraordinary election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan should be scheduled for November 20, 2022.
2. Let the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan ensure the organization and holding of extraordinary presidential elections.
3. Let the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan take the necessary measures for the organizational, material, technical and financial support of the extraordinary presidential elections.
4. The mayors of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent cities and regions should ensure the timely creation and correctness of the list of citizens with the right to vote, provide comprehensive assistance to the Central, territorial and district election commissions in solving the problems of organizing and holding extraordinary presidential elections.
5. This Decree shall be enforced from the date of its first official publication," the decree says.
