In January 2022, at a regular meeting of the regional commission to reimburse the damage caused to SMEs affected by the riots, 204 applications were approved in the amount of 337.4 millions tenge.
Of these, 111 applications in the amount of 208.3 million tenge were sent through the charity fund "Zhana Alatau" (according to the Department of State Revenues for entrepreneurs with a turnover of up to 3 million tenge); 93 entrepreneurs will be compensated from the budget in the amount of 129.1 million tenge (according to official data on turnover, for the full amount of the declared loss according to the simplified calculation formula). Since the beginning of the commission's work, a total of 370.3 mln. 221 applications were approved in the amount of tenge.
The work of the commission continues. Entrepreneurs' applications are carefully studied for completeness of the submitted documents and considered by open voting of the Commission members.
Earlier, the regional commission identified shortcomings in the compensation mechanism and made recommendations for improvement. Thus, there is a mechanism for compensation for losses under the simplified mechanism with a maximum amount of payments up to 5 million tenge. This will significantly expand the coverage of affected businesses and accelerate the payment of compensation.
In addition to the state budget, payments are provided from the own funds of the funds. Work is underway to improve the compensation mechanism.
