Twenty-four people have been sentenced to death in Syria for arson in 2020, Adyrna reports quoting Reuters.
"Those sentenced to death have been charged with acts of terrorism that have resulted in death and damage to public infrastructure, public and private property," the ministry said in a statement.
Some of the perpetrators confessed to being paid for arson.
We remind that local authorities have registered 187 forest fires affecting 280 towns and villages in Latakia, Tartus, Homs and Hama provinces.
