The airport in Oral will be renamed, the national portal Adyrna reports.
According to the regional publication "My city", the decision was made at a session of the regional maslikhat.
Acting head of the department of language development Sveta Ganieva said that such a proposal came from public figures and deputies.
Members of the Miras Public Council under the Nur Otan Party and deputies of the regional maslikhat proposed to rename Ural International Airport LLP after the hero of the Soviet Union Manshuk Mametova. Deputies unanimously supported the proposal.
"Manshuk Mametova is a native of the Oral region (now WKO), a participant of the Great Patriotic War. She was a machine gunner in the Red Army. He defeated more than 70 opponents in the last battle and died in the fall of 1943. After her death, Manshuk Mametova was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
