India successfully conducted its 100th space launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Sriharikota Island in the Andhra Pradesh state, reports the national portal Adyrna, citing Dzen.ru.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the GSLV MkII F15 rocket, successfully placing it into Earth’s orbit.
This historic launch is considered one of India’s greatest achievements in space research. The first rocket was launched from Sriharikota in August 1979. Since then, the country has made significant advancements in space technology, becoming one of the world’s leading space powers.
India is not only launching satellites but also undertaking major projects aimed at deep space exploration. In August 2025, the Indian government announced plans to build a new ground station in the Ladakh region for studying the Moon and Mars.
Additionally, in July, ISRO Chief Sridhar Panicker announced that India has begun developing its first rocket for a human mission to the Moon.
