Firdausi's Shahnameh in Kazakh literature

Iran has a long tradition of celebrating the birthdays of every famous Persian poet. To do this, they dedicated a day to each Persian poet. Among them is Firdausi. The birthday of the famous Persian poet Abylkasym Firdausi (935-1020) is traditionally celebrated in Iran on May 15 every year. According to the Iranian calendar, this is the 25th urdibehesht. In this regard, the Department of Middle East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on May 16, 2022 organized a round table on "Firdausi's Shahnameh and Kazakh literature."

During the round table dedicated to the "Day of Firdausi" Abylkasym Firdausi's work on the role of Shakhnama in Kazakh literature, its translation into the Kazakh language, etc. Well-known Iranian scholars made presentations and exchanged views on various topics. Participating in the round table was an orientalist, Ph.D. I. Zhemenei presented the works of Shakhnama translated into Kazakh. In particular, he paid special attention to his two publications.
