U.S. Congressman Al Green, a member of the Democratic Party, has announced plans to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
As reported by The Hill, Green made the statement during a demonstration held on April 5, 2025.
“I intend to begin the impeachment process against U.S. President Donald Trump within 30 days,” said Green.
In his speech, he compared the American leader to the biblical Goliath and referred to himself as David. He emphasized that the President should not be trusted when it comes to justice and governance of the people.
Large-scale demonstrations have erupted in the U.S. against Trump’s policies and the introduction of import tariffs.
According to The Guardian, one of the reasons behind the protests is dissatisfaction with the policies of entrepreneur and current head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, along with cuts in healthcare spending and a reduction in support for environmental and national park initiatives.
