A Kazakh woman has joined the teaching staff of the University of Oxford

A graduate of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktau, Meruert Bizhanova, has joined the teaching staff of the University of Oxford. This was reported by the Mangystau Regional Public Communications Center, according to Adyrna.

Meruert graduated from school in 2019 and later studied at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. During her studies, she was actively involved in the student community and served as president of the student assembly. In 2025, she was admitted to the doctoral program at the University of Oxford.

According to the young scholar, her appointment to the position of Teaching Fellow is a high recognition of her consistent efforts and a sign of trust from the university. She will now not only continue her academic research but also deliver lectures as part of Oxford University’s faculty, sharing her knowledge and experience in education and science with students.
