On March 23, the Akim of Mangystau region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, reviewed the process of restarting the Beineu grain terminal, which had been idle since 2018.

This important infrastructure project is owned by Eurasia Trans Logistics LLP. The administration of Mangystau region, with financial support from the “Halyk” fund and in collaboration with the “Caspiy” social-entrepreneurial corporation, ensured the reopening of the grain terminal.

The project aims to strengthen food security in the region and enhance Kazakhstan’s export potential.

“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had previously emphasized the importance of restoring the terminal within the framework of Mangystau region’s socio-economic development. The reopening of the Beineu grain terminal is a strategically significant step for the region’s growth. This project will not only ensure food stability in the region but also strengthen export capacity and create new jobs,” said Akim Nurdaulet Kilybay.

The terminal has the capacity to store up to 100,000 tons of grain at a time, producing 400 tons of flour per day and 25,000 tons of bran annually.

The cargo turnover of the enterprise is expected to reach up to 2 million tons per year, creating approximately 200 new jobs. The products will be exported to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

The modern infrastructure of the Beineu terminal allows it to become one of the key logistics hubs for land-based cargo transportation to Caspian region countries. This will boost the economic potential of the Mangystau region and strengthen its role in the international trade of agricultural products.

“Timur Kulibayev’s Halyk Fund has been systematically supporting the development of the Mangystau region. Investing in strategically important projects for the region is our key priority. Since 2023, the fund has allocated 4.5 billion tenge to this area, including 1.8 billion tenge for the restoration of the Beineu grain terminal. This project is not just an infrastructure facility – it represents new jobs, stability for local entrepreneurs, and a contribution to strengthening the country’s export potential,” said Saghynbek Shunkeev, Director of the Halyk Fund.

Originally launched in 2010, the Beineu grain terminal has now been fully modernized and reopened in line with the state’s strategy for food security and agro-industrial export development. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of such infrastructure projects in ensuring sustainable economic growth and regional development.
